My record for finishing anime is really poor, given my habit of dropping and putting series on hold. Seirei no Moribito was one of those on-hold series, but I fully intended to loop back to it because of the compelling plot set-up and an even more compelling female main – probably one of the strongest female anime characters I’ve ever seen, actually, for all the right reasons. Since I finally finished Aria the Natural recently and felt like watching something completely different, I started up Seirei no Moribito again and was really glad I did, because it turned out to be one of the most enjoyable anime viewing experiences I had in recent years.

Co-worker linked me this site called Very Funny Ads… it’s fun. I can see this being good for hours of procrastination/brain-numbing purposes.

The first ad that I watched was this penguin one… as cute and chuckle-inducing as I found it, I’m not sure if it really made me want to take a bus. Like, if the real-life equivalent to a killer whale slammed into a bus, I don’t see how traveling in a group will really make you SAFER. Wouldn’t everyone just collectively get hurt or killed?

On the other hand if the killer whale is supposed to call to mind predators or criminals picking off lonely travelers or some similar scenario then this ad would make me want to take the bus more. I guess the bottom line is that context is everything :P

I’m a bit of an Idol junkie, for the drama and Simon and what-not. Who knew it (actually) could be a place to discover good songs too! Kris Allen for his top seven performance performed such a delicious song that I had to research up the original. I ended up falling insanely in love with the original song. Which judging from all the YouTube comments, got majorly re-thrust into the public limelight because of Kris’ performance. Most YouTube comments are such trash, but they’re so much fun to read sometimes xD

And don’t get me wrong. I like Kris Allen – although I like Adam Lambert more xD – but I just find the original dude’s voice more soulful. Sorry Kris. Thanks for bringing such a great song to my attention though :D I’ll have to check out the movie where this song came from too – “Once.”
