The opening part of this video where the choir simulated the sounds of an oncoming thunderstorm is without doubt one of the coolest things I’ve seen on the internets in recent memory 
The actual song part didn’t quite impress me as much, but… that opening is just flippin’ awesome, ’nuff said!

I’m a bit of an Idol junkie, for the drama and Simon and what-not. Who knew it (actually) could be a place to discover good songs too! Kris Allen for his top seven performance performed such a delicious song that I had to research up the original. I ended up falling insanely in love with the original song. Which judging from all the YouTube comments, got majorly re-thrust into the public limelight because of Kris’ performance. Most YouTube comments are such trash, but they’re so much fun to read sometimes xD
And don’t get me wrong. I like Kris Allen – although I like Adam Lambert more xD – but I just find the original dude’s voice more soulful. Sorry Kris. Thanks for bringing such a great song to my attention though I’ll have to check out the movie where this song came from too – “Once.”
The hiatus between Nodame Cantabile Lesson 126 and Lesson 127 felt like an eternity, because the story cut off right before an incredible high point – Nodame’s debut concerto. Needless to say as a rabid Nodame fan, I was in seventh heaven when Tomoko Ninomiya was able to return and start serializing again.
A co-worker tried to get me into Flight of the Conchords a while back but wasn’t tremendously successful… another co-worker found this song by them though yesterday and I watched it with him. It. Is. Fucking. Win. I’ve looped it quite a few times now and can’t stop laughing like a maniac every time I watch it.
(I would also recommend checking out the R Kelly ft Usher – Same Girl video either before or after the FOTC viewing. While this video is a bit of a pain to sit through – I think the song is tremendously stupid – it will make you appreciate the FOTC version all that much more )
Another gem of a song I found through Pandora. After constant looping for a couple of days I decided that I like this live version more than the CD version, probably because of the additional strings accompaniment – so pretty
And – today is Friday the 13th! Happy 13th all xD
I first tried watching Samurai Champloo in college and I remember not liking it very much then. At that time I thought it had too much blood and violence, which just goes to show how squeamish I used to be. Randomly, what got me over my squeamishness was this strangely grotesque dream involving several Harry Potter characters. Not going to go into too much details there…
Anyways, my Champloo watching attempt #1 involved me skipping from episode 1 or 2 straight to the last episode because again, I thought this series was just going to end up being very repetitive (and again, too violent for my general tastes back then). I started on my Champloo attempt #2 recently and of course, completely reversed my opinion. I’m in the middle of indulging in massive adoration of this series right now. Just goes to show that there usually are very good reasons why popular shows are popular.
So I had Pandora on at work as I often do, and this song came up on my radio and made me almost jump out of my seat. Because this was one of my favorite songs in college but I haven’t listened to it since. That was just a freaking awesome moment that totally made my day -
I’ve been looping this song like crazy for the last two or three days now. God bless Pandora for continuing to throw good songs on my radar.
